Sociological, cultural, industrial and technological developments have been reflected in everyfield of educationand art since the past. This change has contributed to the development of new techniques in the field of art by revealing art productions made with new styles and materials. The original printmaking area is one of the areas most affected by these technical developments. The material-based application method and its structure open to experimental studies stand out as an extremely valuable production method for artists. It is accepted that the history of printmaking in our country started witht he start of paper production in Istanbul in the 15th century. Then, the printmaking, which we of ten encounter in the artistic sense with the founding of the printingpress, has become an area in the history of Turkish Art, which has been renowned in the history of Turkish Art, with it sun ique practices, at home and abroad. In our country, as well as academic sandartists recognized with the identity of the French artist Leopold Levy came to Istanbul in Turkey in 1936 at the invitation of theState of Academic and Fine Arts painting was brought to the department head. The artist Levy, who brought the engraving printing technique to our country, has made important contributions in the training of Turkish painters and in arranging the Academy of Fine Arts with a new understanding. He has also worked personally in theregulation of Turkey's first Painting and Sculpture Museum. This work will focus on Leopold Levy's understanding of art, instructor and original gravüre printing, which has brought many Turkish artists / students in our country with the engraving technique he knew thanks to Charles Heyman and has added many riches to Turkish art and artist.
