THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMPATHY LEVELS AND TEACHERS' SELF-EFFICACY LEVELS OF RELIGIOUS CULTURE AND MORAL KNOWLEDGE TEACHERS

Abstract

The aim of the research is to reveal the relationship between the Empathy Levels and The Teachers' Self-Efficacy Levels of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Teachers. The research was applied to 575 teachers, who were reached through Google Docs via simple random sampling method. In order to analyze the data collected from the research sample, as SPSS 16.0 program and data collection tool; "Empathy Level Determination Scale", "Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale", and "Personal Information Form" were used. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), independent sample t-test, post hoc bonferroni tests were used to determine whether there are differences between two scales and socio-demographic variables, and pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the two scales. In the research, teacher self-efficacy with the empathy level of the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge teachers; It is discussed in terms of variables such as gender, age, year of duty, the number of books read and interest in social problems. As a result, a significant difference was calculated between the gender and interest in social problems variables and empathy level; the gender, age, duty year and the number of books read variables and teacher self-efficacy level. In addition, there was found a positive and significant correlation between Empathy Level and Teacher Self-Efficacy at a rate of 0,314.
