Abstract

Performance art is a form of art that is performed live in front of its audience at the time and is exhibited by its artist or artists via use of the body. The Art of Performance, which is defined as an artistic expression on its own, has emerged as a result of human actions and has been manifested in different ways in each society with the revolts against social problems and the reactions of people in different ways. Today, Performance Art by changing the entire time still continues to influence its viewers in a clearer style and with more attractive elements. In this article, it was endevored to provide a general perspective to the results within the scope of comments and reactions of the viewers of Marina Abramovich's performance art exhibition, which took place in the Sakıp Sabancı Museum between January 31 and April 26, 2020. Based on the work of Marina Abramovic which he created by involving her own body and the viewer, the general effects of this art have been investigated by questioning. Moreover, the interactions of performance art with many art fields such as dance, music, theater, poetry, and videography are examined based on the works of Marina Abramovich. This research was carried out with the document analysis (literature review) method, which is one of the qualitative research types, and with the method of the sensitivity to the natural environment.
