Abstract

Healthcare workers face many risks of occupational diseases that may adversely affect their health. These risks arise from reasons such as insufficient care of healthcare workers, lack of information in employees and disruption of measures to be taken by the healthcare institution. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the risks of healthcare personnel working in health institutions and the job satisfaction. The universe of the research consists of 625 healthcare personnel working in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Training and Research Hospital, which provides healthcare services in the province of Kahramanmaraş. The sample of the study consists of 170 healthcare personnel selected using the simple random sampling method. With the help of computerized statistical program, frequency analysis was carried out primarily to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants. Confirmatory factor analysis was applied to determine the validity of occupational diseases and job satisfaction scales in the study. In order to test the reliability of the scales, in other words, internal consistency, a reliability analysis was performed and the values were found to be above .60. In the correlation analysis, a medium level relationship was determined between the variables. According to the findings obtained as a result of multiple regression analysis applied for hypothesis tests, the factors affecting health negatively affect organizational job satisfaction negatively. On the other hand, it has been determined that the measures requested from the institution positively affect individual job satisfaction.
