Abstract

When the Social Security Institution occupational accident statistics are examined, it is seen that there have been significant increases since 2013 compared to previous years. With this study, it is aimed to examine the SSI occupational accident statistics in the 5-year period from 2013 to the present and to reveal the new current situation and to determine the differences between the situation before the year 2013 and the five-year situation that started with 2013. Almost all of the studies examining occupational accident and occupational diseases statistics are based solely on the number of occupational accidents and occupational diseases and interpret the current situation according to these data. However, when the number of employee insured is included in the analysis and the number of accidents and deaths is compared to the number of insured, the results may be different. Another main purpose of the study is to present the actual situation by including the number of insured employees in the analyzes. At the end of the study, it was found out that the results obtained only from the analyzes based on the number of work accidents and deaths and the results obtained from the inclusion of the number of insured person in the analyzes were quite different.
