Abstract

Television broadcasts have become widespread in the world especially since 1950 and they have outscored previous mass media in terms of mass and efficiency. All segments of the society benefit from television for getting news, being informed and entertainment. Middle-aged and older people are more advantageous compared to other age groups. Here in this study; watching Tv habits of people aged over 60 years were studied and field survey was used as a method. The data were obtained by face-to-face questionnaire technique from 120 participants. The result of the research; participants had a low level of loneliness. Women in the study feel more alone in social life than men. There is a positive difference between the level of loneliness and confidence in television. It was also revealed that the participants of this research were least satisfied with in social life is living conditions.
