Abstract

The 1950s that democrat party was in power in turkey was a term that World war two ended and the soviet union gained strenght. Turkey headed for the West in its foreign policy because of the concern of soviet threat. Democrat party that was a founder member of United Nations wanted to participate as an active role in the World system of it. Democrat party began to a huge struggle to integrate itself into western system for security, financial and to get rid of isolation reasons. In this regard, they would take an active role in United Nations, would make necessary attemts to become a nato member and would try to get economic aid from the Unite States to provide industrialisation in the country. In this period, did turkey suspend its relations with the far east completely or pay attention to its relations with the far east countries as much as it did for the West? In this article, it will be mentioned on Turkey’s relations with the far east countries ( between the years 1950-1960) especially the relations with Japan and China will be examined.
