In the first period of computer industry, private data centers with limited capacity, which was only sufficient for the works of each company using large computer rooms consisting of large dimension hardware, were established. Data centers providing service for third persons through the internet is widely used today by the companies and public institutions with the aim of storing data. Main purpose of this study is to make a descriptive analysis about the general situation of the data centers both in Turkey and in the World before the process of the data centers of the public institutions in Turkey’s gathering under a common structure and to make an evaluation of the latest situation. Starting the service of e-government applications via a single portal began in 2008. Constitution of integrated data centers has become a current issue due to the reasons of solving the problem of multi-tasking in e-government portal, the high cost of service from separate data centers of public institutions and the need for cyber security.},author={Tolga TOSUN},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
