Especially it was given an opportunity to carry the local community's view and demands to the municipal councils via the city councils which were done with 5393 numbered Municipal Corporations Law which was enacted in 2005. It will strengthen the manner of participation that the demands of people are presented to the attention of the authorities by the city councils and this case will contribute to the development of representation and participation manners which have been included in the base of democracy over the world recently. However, the main problem -which is the main question of the study - is how the aldermen perceive the city councils in terms of representation and participation. From the point of this view, the study aims to reveal on what the level the aldermen in SAP region have got knowledge on the representation and participation of city councils in the region, and in the point, to reveal their viewpoints on the city councils. Within the scope of the study, the general profiles of the aldermen in SAP region who attended in the survey are provided, and their views and approaches on the representation and participation related to the city councils are considered.},author={Yeter ÇİÇEK-- İ.
