The aim of this research is to reveal the importance of the use of the sayings of Atatürk in social studies textbooks and their importance in terms of value transmission. In this study, document analysis was used in the context of qualitative methodology. As documents, social studies textbooks (5th to 7th grades), written by Ministry of Turkish National Education, were explored. Descriptive analysis method was preferred. According to results, although the sayings of Ataturk were included in the various units of the related textbooks, it was seen that the frequency of sharing the words was not enough. The words that reflect Atatürk's ideas and thoughts have reached the conclusion that they are an important source of value education. In addition, they are found to be in accordance with the values in the social studies curriculum.
