In general, performance management at public organizations closely related with effectively using of public sources, transparency and accountability. In this research, it was aimed to evaluate applicability of performance measuring methods with gendarmerie organization which consist an important part of homeland security services. In the research, 36 managers working at Ağrı, Ankara and İstanbul Gendarmerie organizations in 2015 were asked for opinions on performance evaluation methods and their conformation levels were examined. According to results of the study, it was found that it is more suitable to measure performance in gendarmerie as vocational and non-vocational performances. Critic events method and 360 degree performance management were the most suitable methods for vocational performance evaluation, whereas behavior focused performance evaluation methods were more applicable for measuring non-vocational performance.},author={Haydar PEKDOĞAN},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
