Abstract
Tasarımcının görsel dünyası bir öge olarak görüntü ve tipografinin kullanılmasında çok etkili olmaktadır. Tasarımcı afiş tasarlarken toplumsal bir bilinçlendirmeyi de beraberinde getirir. Tiyatro afişlerinin en önemli özelliği tasarlandığı oyun için belki de toplumla ilk kontak kurduğu andır. Bu bilinçle tasarımcı afiş tasarlarken bir bakıma toplumun ve tiyatro oyununun kodlarını çözmüş olmalıdır. Mengü ERTEL’in tiyatro afişlerinde kullandığı görüntü ve tipografinin inceleneceği bu çalışmada, afiş tasarımları tiyatro oyunları için neden önemlidir? sorusuna cevap verilerek afiş tasarımlarında kullanılan görüntü ve tipografi ögesinin seyirciye ulaşma ve algılanmasındaki önemi vurgulanacaktır. Bu çalışmada Mengü ERTEL’in yapmış olduğu tiyatro afişlerinin tasarım incelenmesi afiş değerlendirme ölçütlerine göre yapılarak ulaşılan sonuç ve öneriler ile bu konu ile ilgili yapılacak olan araştırmalara ışık tutacak bilimsel ve görsel bir algı dünyası oluşturmak amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma; Keşanlı Ali Destanı, Deli İbrahim, Doğrular, Gol Kralı ve Aslan Asker Şvayk tiyatro afişlerinin incelemesi ile sınırlıdır. Bu sınırlandırmanın sebebi, Mengü ERTEL’in afiş tasarımlarının ağırlıklı olarak tiyatro afişlerinden oluşuyor olmasıdır. Afiş tasarımları kullanılan görsel imge, tipografi, mesaj-imge bütünlüğü, sözsel hiyerarşi ve mesajların derinlik ve uzmanlık gerektirdiği yapılardan oluşuyor olması, araştırmada seçilmesine olanak tanımıştır.

Abstract
The visual world of the designer is very effective in using image and typography as an element. When designing banners, designers bring about social awareness. The most important feature of theater posters is perhaps the first time he made contact with the society for the game he designed. With this awareness, the designer must have decoded society and theater in a way when designing posters. In this study, the images and typography used by Mengü ERTEL in theater posters will be examined. Why are poster designs important for theater plays? By answering the question, the importance of image and typography used in poster designs in reaching and perceiving the audience will be emphasized. In this study, the design examination of the theater posters made by Mengü ERTEL will be conducted according to the poster evaluation criteria and results and suggestions will be created and a world of scientific and visual perception will be created to shed light on the researches on this subject. This work; Keşanlı Ali Epic, Mad Ibrahim, Confirms, King of Goals, and Lion Soldier Şvayk are limited to the examination of theater posters. The reason for this limitation is that the poster designs of Mengü ERTEL consist mainly of theater posters. Poster designs used in the visual image, typography, message-image integrity, verbal hierarchy and the structure of the messages that require depth and expertise, has prepared the opportunity to be selected in the research.
