Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of micro teaching technique on the teaching skills of violin teacher candidates. For this purpose, the application process of micro teaching technique was applied to Necmettin Erbakan University Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Education Fine Arts Education Department Music Education Department and individual instrument violin (n = 7) teacher candidates and Konya Çimento Fine Arts High School Music Department violin (n = 7) students. Teacher candidates have taught 10 lessons in 5 sessions during the implementation process. The reason for this is that the "teach-reteach" cycle of the micro-teaching technique has been applied. The lecturer was observed by the candidate researcher and other teacher candidates and evaluated using "Violin Teaching Ability Observation and Evaluation Form". Observation form is composed of 3 different dimensions (preparation process, course-learning process, course outcome and preparation process for the next course) in a total of 30 items. In order to test the reliability of the observation form, the Cronbach-Alpha reliability coefficient value of the items was calculated and found to be 0.82. "Wilcoxon signed-rank test" was conducted to determine whether there was a significant difference between the measurement scores obtained by the teacher candidates through the observation form and the measurement scores obtained from the teaching skill post test. At the end of the study, it was found that there was a significant difference in the scores of teacher candidates in favor of the final tests, which were discussed in three stages.
