Atatürk noted the importance of the region with the words “Nakhichevan is a gate for Turkish people”. Our people are connected with century long bonds like common history, beliefs and language. This connection will increase the collaboration between Turkey and Nakhichevan, helping to strengthen Nakhichevan's economic structure and increasing the usage of idle capacity of its industry. Also in long term, this will increase the overall collaboration between Turkey and other countries in the region. Nakhichevan, an autonomous republic under Azerbaijan, was selected among 10 economic regions for the 2004-2008 Regional Socio-Economic Development State Program. Nakhichevan economy mainly depends on agriculture, but after 2004, companies that operate in many production areas had been established. However, especially after 2015, economic development came into a halt and the situation worsened ever since. Reversing this situation is possible by making changes to strengthen Nakhichevan's capital markets, as well as developing policies for economic sustainability and supporting high-tech usage in agriculture and industry.},author={Meltem KESKİN KÖYLÜ},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
