Abstract

Saint Pierre Cave which is our study subject is located in the boundary Küçük Dalyan neighborhood in the Center of Antakya City in the province Hatay. This Cave is occurred in the west part slope of Kuseyr Platue (tableland) on the fault shaped to Antakya-Samandağ depression (graben). St. Pierre Cave is on the way of Narlıca far to center the 2th km and North side of Hacıkürüş rivulet. This cave was natural but it was shaped with artificial effects in the historical time. Firstly, it was used as a temple during the Saint Petrus who was a disciple and monk A.C. 30s years. Caves are used different purposes both todays and during the historical times. Some caves are used as settlement, animal pound, water tank, animal products store and agricultural products housing etc. Some caves, in the suitable location, are used as a saving and template.
