This study; has been prepared in order to reveal the contribution and importance of congresses and fairs to promotion activities in tourism sector. Previously congresses and fairs, which inclueded activities such as promotion and marketing, goined a diffirent dimension and started to take part in tourism activities and now it is assessed as “congress and fair tourism”. This shows that congresses and fairs have an important share in tourism sector. In this study it is tried to emphasize the potential of Turkey’s congresses and fairs and importance of this potential in tourism sector. The impact of congresses and fairs on tourism was evaluated within the framework of literature surveys. At the same time the potential acquisitions provided to turkey are also evaluated. Accordingly, suggestions were made for the development of the field.
