It is important to remember that a woman who is pregnant has an increased risk of developing breast cancer. These changes that pregnant women experience during this period can be effective on psychological well-being and can be effective on attachment. Based on this context, the aim of the study is to examine the effect of mental health on attachment in pregnant women as a result of attachment of pregnant women to the fetus. The sample of the study consists of 67 pregnant volunteers who completed their seventeenth week of follow-up at the Family Health Centers in Üsküdar district of Istanbul, who agreed to participate in the study. The research's data collection tools are; “Personal Information Form (PIF)”, “Short Symptom Inventory (SSI)” and “Prenatal Attachment Inventory (PAI)”. Independent Group t-test, One-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and LSD Post Hoc testing were used for statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study using SPSS 23.0 program. According to the results of the study, a positive relationship between pregnancy week, number of pregnancies, duration of marriage and items of SSI and prenatal attachment was found. The results of the study are thought to be important because mental health in pregnancy has an effect on the baby's development as a healthy individual.
