Summary

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between Dokuz Eylul University and Izmir Institute of Technology students' metacognitive awareness of innovative entrepreneurship and their environment characteristics. A total of 297 undergraduate senior students from two universities participated to the research. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 25.0 program. According to the results of the analysis, it is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the score order averages of the metacognitive awareness scale, planning and monitoring sub-dimension of innovative entrepreneurship compared to the universities in Izmir. In addition, it is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the scale, supports and obstacles sub-dimension, according to the universities in Izmir, to determine the environment characteristics. As a result of this study, it is concluded that in order to increase the metacognitive awareness of university students regarding innovative entrepreneurship, we should increase the supporting factors in their environment and reduce the preventive factors.
