In recent years, especially through the penetration of information and internet technologies into all areas of people's lives, access to information and interaction among people have increased significantly and this development has felt the effect in all areas of human life. Nowadays, it is observed that the Internet, IT and information technologies provide the banking, commercial, health, public services and services that are increasingly available. E-commerce is one of the most important fields of activity in the electronic environment. One of the most important issues is the design and operation of websites that provide the platform for commercial activity in the execution of e-commerce activities. In this study, it is aimed to compare the paid and free E-commerce infrastructures according to some factors (development, payment, shipping, marketing etc.). In this context, the comparison of paid E-commerce systems and some free e-commerce systems (Opencart, Magento, Shopify, etc.) which are prominent nowadays have been carried out. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the firms’ preference of the paid or free e-commerce systems according to their special requirements will be costeffective and meet the needs of the companies.
