Abstract

This study summarizes the content of an ethnographic virtual museum project to enrich the cultural heritage with an interactive presentation of memories, compilations and stories as a narration of the epic of the Turkish Revolutionaries, fight for freedom in Elbistan, The Nakibzade house, is one of the most prominent houses where many critical decisions were taken and meetings were held during the defense of the southern front of the National Struggle. General Mustafa Kemal decided to establish a national organization in Maraş to start the national struggle. Mudafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti (Organization of Defending Justice) by Nakibzade Mehmet Aga from one of the most well-known and greatest families in Elbistan played a critical role in this struggle against the occupation of Maraş in the Southern Front. It is known from written sources that Kılıç Ali, who visited Elbistan with instructions from Mustafa Kemal, planned the organization with Nakibzade Mehmet Aga in this house. Kılıç Ali stayed in this house and held the meetings there. The House was the headquarters and armory for the Leaders of Elbistan Militia Forces. This house of the family was protected and registered by the Ministry of Culture in 2009. The visual section (with the bay window) of the house was reconsidered as an R&D Project and it’s building survey registers were completed, the data inventory was created, and the historical texture started being depicted as tables with illustrations belong to certain periods in history.
