In this study, it is aimed to analyze the agricultural potential of Küçük Menderes Basin and evaluate it according to land use type. Küçük Menderes Basin is in İzmir province where agricultural activities are very intense. However, the misuse of the land in the basin with fertile agricultural soils and the depletion of the lands with agricultural potential or the use of them outside its purpose constitute a problem especially in terms of sustainability. In this context; The characteristics of the natural environment affecting agriculture were evaluated by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In this study, as natural environment properties topographic features of; slope, aspect, drainage characteristics, erosion status, pedogenic properties; soil groups, soil depth, limiting soil characteristics and climatic characteristics; rainfall and temperature data were used. Weights of these factors were determined by AHP method and all data were transferred to GIS environment and weighted overlay method was questioned. At the end of the study, “Agricultural Land Use Suitability Degrees” was classified and compared with the 2012 CORINE land cover data and field observations. As a result of the study, it is observed that the settlement areas that are spreading towards graben base which have high agricultural potential. On the other hand agricultural activities on the sloping land of the basin, which have low agricultural potential, caused the misused.
