Abstract

Microcredit, not keeping the norms applied by commercial banks, is defined as a loan method that does not require any guarantee and mortgage process, to low income person, especially women. In the process, credit is given to establish a small business instead of helping as any donation to the poor and paid back weekly in the long run. It is helped the other poor family with this credit paid back. It seems to be payment ratio as approximately 99%. The system has been started to apply in many countries because of this success. Firstly Turkish microcredit application started in Diyarbakır as a pilot area in 2003. In this study, it is discussed microcredit applications in some selected countries and compared the applications in Turkey with others. Accordingly, the study aims to deal factors influencing success of microcredit in different countries and identify some advice for Turkey.
