Sound synthesis can be defined as the process of creating new timbres by using various techniques. Implementation is so important during teaching the techniques used within the process, where the final product is sound, in terms of observing the timbral results and objectifying the relatively abstract theoretical information. The techniques can be implemented on both hardware and software synthesizers. In this study; the usage of Pure Data, an open source sound synthesis platform, as a teaching material in sound synthesis techniques education is discussed within the scope of visuality and real-time processing, supported by sample implementations.
