Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine anxiety and depression cases in Syrian refugees that live in a refugee camp and to examine the factors that affect them. Population of descriptive research consists of 27.000 people that are over the age of 18 in a Refugee Camp in Akçakale Şanlıurfa. Totally 450 people chosen from each field with a random method by using cluster sampling method were incorporated into the study. In the cross sectional study, it was met face to face with participants between 24th January- 01t February 2014 and data was collected. In the statistical evaluation, Independent Sample t-Test and One Way Anova Test were used. When strong anxiety indications were seen in 87people(19,3%) of refugees, in 40people(8,9%) there were strong depression indications.
