Constructivist learning approach accepts construction of knowledge in student’s mind by his/her effort in result of interaction with their environment (Atasoy & Akdeniz, 2006). The aim of this study is to investigate prospective teachers' opinions about the constructivist learning approach, tendencies towards this approach and the applicability of the constructivist approach in schools. The study was carried out with 100 prospective teachers from biology education department of Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty at Ataturk University. As a tool for collecting data, a questionnaire contained 41 questions was prepared related to the subject. According to obtained data, constructivist learning theory is not known by the prospective teachers.
