Abstract
Coğrafi konumu, tarihi geçmişi, siyasi ve sosyal açılardan jeopolitik önemi, farklı medeniyetlerin kesişme noktası olan Erbil şehri, tarihi Sümerlere kadar uzanan kadim kalesini halen tüm ihtişamıyla muhafaza etmektedir. Yaklaşık 6000 yıllık geçmişinde birçok medeniyet ve kültüre beşiklik yapmış bu mekan, sayısız farklı medeniyet ve kültürden kalıcı izler edinmiştir. Her mekanın, kendine has bir kimliği vardır. Bu kimliği kucağında yoğrulduğu kültürlerin karışımı ile elde eder. Bu kimlik de şehrin ruhunu yansıtır. Erbil Kalesi bu kültürel birikimiyle elde ettiği özel kimliğinin ortaya çıkardığı ruhla zamana meydan okumakta, gerek fiziki yapısı gerekse kültürel birikimleriyle bir dünya mirası olarak gelecek dönemlere sağlam adımlarla yürümektedir. Bu kadar kadim bir geçmişe sahip bir mekan ile ilgili sayısız efsane de ister istemez ortaya çıkmış ve hafızalarda yerini almıştır. Araştırmadaki amacımız bu efsanelerden bazılarını tespit etmek ve kültürel hayata olan yansımalarını değerlendirmektir. Bu efsaneler vasıtasıyla kültürler arası etkileşimlere dikkat çekmektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılarak yapılan gözlem, düküman analizi ve doğal ortam ziyaretleri ile Erbil Kalesi ile ilgili bilgiler ve dikkat çekici efsanelerin bazıları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Olabildiğince alan araştırmalarına ağırlık verilmiştir. Bu çalışmamız sonucunda, efsane oluşturma geleneği için münbit bir ortam olan Erbil Kalesinin, dil-kültür araştırmacıları için önemli bir kaynak olabileceği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Abstract
The city of Erbil, which is the intersection point of different civilizations with its geographical location, historical background, political and social geopolitical importance, still preserves its ancient castle, which dates back to the Sumerians, in all its glory. This place, which has been the cradle of many civilizations and cultures in its approximately 6000-year history, has acquired permanent traces from countless different civilizations and cultures. Every place has its own identity. It achieves this identity through the mixture of cultures in which it was formed. This identity reflects the spirit of the city. Erbil Castle defies time with the spirit of its special identity gained through this cultural accumulation, and is taking firm steps towards future periods as a world heritage with both its physical structure and cultural accumulation. Inevitably, countless legends about a place with such an ancient past have emerged and taken its place in memories. Our aim in the research is to identify some of these legends and evaluate their reflections on cultural life. It is to draw attention to intercultural interactions through these legends. Through observation, document analysis and natural environment visits using qualitative research methods, information about the Erbil Castle and some of the remarkable legends were tried to be determined. Focus was given to field research as much as possible. As a result of this study, it has been revealed that Erbil Castle, which is a fertile environment for the tradition of creating legends, can be an important resource for language-culture researchers.
