Abstract
Türk edebiyatı tarihinin yazılması, onun köklü geçmişi göz önünde bulundurulduğunda hayli zor bir iştir. Özellikle Tanzimat yıllarıyla birlikte Türk edebiyatı tarihinin ilk örneklerine rastlanırken takip edilen yöntem ve üslup da giderek gelişmiştir. Bu noktada önemli rol oynayan isim, her edebiyat tarihçisinin üstad olarak gördüğü Mehmet Fuat Köprülü'dür. Diğer taraftan edebiyat tarihçiliğinde benimsenen Batılı isimler ve onların metotları vardır. Bu isimler arasında Gustave Lanson, Hippolyte Taine, Ferdinand Brunetière, Albert Thibaudet bulunmaktadır. Edebiyat tarihçiliği alanındaki birikimlerin Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında da meyvelerini verdiği görülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda yapmış olduğumuz çalışmada, dönemin ilk eserlerinden olan İsmail Habib Sevük’ün Türk Teceddüt Edebiyatı Tarihi, İsmail Hikmet Ertaylan’ın Türk Edebiyatı Tarihi ve Agah Sırrı Levend’in Edebiyat Tarihi Dersleri adlı çalışmalarındaki edebiyat tarihçiliği anlayışı ve uygulanan metotlar üzerinde durulmuştur. Ardından söz konusu edebiyat tarihi yazarlarının Türk edebiyatının öncü isimlerinden biri olan Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’e bakış açıları üzerinden bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Böylece erken Cumhuriyet döneminin bu ilk edebiyat tarihlerinin yapısı ve yazarlarının tutumu açığa çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Söz konusu eserlerin seçilmesinde işlenen dönemi ve konuyu sınırlandırmak amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract
Writing the history of Turkish literature is a very difficult task, given its rooted history. In particular, the method and style followed by the first example of the history of Turkish literature, along with the years of Tanzimat, has improved. At this point, the important role is Mehmet Fuat Kopru-lu, whom every literary historian sees as a master. On the other hand, there are Western names and their methods adopted in literature history. These names include Gustave Lanson, Hippolyte Taine, Ferdinand Brunetière, Albert Thibaudet. In the early years of the republic, the accumulations in the field of literary history are seen as the fruit of the day. In this respect, the study we conducted was focused on the Ismail Habib Sevuk’s Türk Teceddüt Edebiyatı Tarihi, one of the first works of the period, Ismail Hikmet Ertaylan’s Türk Edebiyatı Tarihi and Agah Sırrı Levend’s Edebiyat Tarihi Dersleri, the literature history of the works. After that, an assessment was made on the perspective of re-caizade Mahmut Ekrem, one of the pioneering names of these literary authors in Turkish literature. The structure and the attitude of the authors of these early Cumhuriyet days of literature has been tried to be uncovered. It is intended to limit the period and the amount of time involved in the selection of such works.
