Abstract
Tevfik Fikret, şiirleriyle olduğu kadar eğitimci kimliğiyle de Türk edebiyatının en orijinal düşünürlerinden biridir. O; nevi şahsına münhasır kişiliği, dinî ve siyasi fikirleri, öğretmenliği ve yöneticiliği ile Türk düşünce dünyasında sürekli konuşulmuş ve hem devrine hem gelecek nesillere hep bir rol model olarak takdim edilmiştir. Oğlu Halûk onun ideal neslinin sembol ismidir. Bir medeniyet mimarı olarak büyüttüğü genç Halûk, çağın bütün gereksinimlerini kuşanarak örnek ve önder bir kişilik olacak; aklın ve bilimin aydınlık yolunda yürüyerek geleceği inşa edecektir. Fikret, oğluna Yunan mitolojisinin büyük kahramanı Promete’yi örnek gösterir. Promete nasıl tanrılardan ateşi çalıp insanlara getirmişse Halûk da Batı’ya gidip insanlık için faydalı olan bütün ilim ve fenleri getirecektir. Yeni Mektep, bu gayeyle doğmuş bir eğitim projesidir. Hayalini kurduğu fakat bir türlü hayata geçiremediği bu “Yeni Mektep” isimli okul; aklen, fikren, bedenen ve ruhen sağlıklı bireyler, bir başka ifadeyle Şerminler ve Haluklar yetiştirecektir. Müdürlüğünü yaptığı Mekteb-i Sultanide ve Türkçe öğretmenliğini icra ettiği Robert Kolejde böyle bir nesil için bütün zorluklara rağmen büyük bir mücadele vermiş, eğitim öğretime özgün bakışlar kazandırmıştır. Bu sebeple Tevfik Fikret bugünün edebiyat ve eğitim dünyası için yeniden dikkate alınmaya değer bir sanatkâr olarak karşımızda durmaktadır.

Abstract
Tevfik Fikret is considered one of the most original thinkers in Turkish literature with his academic identity as well as his poems. He was constantly discussed in the world of Turkish thought for his unique personality, religious and political ideas, teaching, and administration and was always presented as a role model for his time and future generations. His son Haluk is the code name for his ideal generation. The young Hulk, who grew up as an architect of civilization, will be an exemplary and pioneering figure who wears all the requirements of the times. We will build the future by following the bright path of reason and science. Fikret is similar to his son Prometheus, the great hero of Greek mythology. Just as Prometheus stole fire from the gods and brought it to mankind, so will Haluk go west and bring all the knowledge and sciences that are beneficial to mankind. Yeni Mektep is an educational project created with this goal in mind. The name of this school is "The New School" which he dreamed of but could not achieve. It will educate individuals who are mentally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually healthy, in other words, occupations, and situations. Against all odds, he fought hard for this generation at the Sultan's office, where he was director, and at Robert College, where he worked as a Turkish language teacher, and made education unique. That is why Toufic Fikret stands before us as an artist to be seen in today's literary and academic world.
