Abstract
Bilinç sahibi bir varlık olarak insan, kendi gerçekliğini sorgularken doğadan yola çıkar ve onu anlamlandırmaya çalışır. Yerleşik yaşama geçiş ile birlikte yaşam alanları da bu sorgulamanın bir parçası haline gelir. Tarihsel süreçte büyüyen ve kalabalıklaşan kentler de ortak yaşam alanı olarak bu sorgulamaya dahil edilir. Günümüzde de bu kapsamda karşılaşılan ‘urban sketchers’ hareketi kentleri odağına alan, çizim odaklı bir harekettir. Bu makalenin amacı; yurtdışında tanınmasına karşın ülkemizde henüz adı yeni duyulmaya başlanan ‘urban sketchers’ hareketine dair temel kavram ve yöntemleri açıklayarak kent-sanatçı ilişkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Düşüncelerinin temelinde kentlere farklı ve sanatsal bir gözle bakabilmek olan bu hareket, en basit çizim malzemeleri (kurşun kalem, eskiz defteri, mürekkep vb.) kullanarak hızlı bir görsel düşünme ve görsel algıyı ön plana alan, kısa sürede çalışmalar ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bir düşünceye sahiptir. Bu vesileyle öncelikle günümüzde kentlerin sanatçı algısındaki yeri görsel algı çerçevesinde incelenecek, devamında da urban sketchers hareketinin ilke, yöntem ve kullandıkları malzemeler görseller eşliğinde açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır.

Abstract
Humans, as conscious beings, are looking at nature to make sense of their own reality while questioning it. Living areas also become a part of this questioning as a result of the transition to settled life. Cities that have grown and become crowded over time are also included in this questioning as a common living space. The urban sketchers movement, which is encountered within this framework today, is a drawing-oriented movement that focuses on cities. The aim of this paper is to reveal the city-artist relations by explaining the basic concepts and methods of the 'urban sketchers' movement, which has just begun to be heard in Turkey, despite it is being well-known in other countries. This movement, which is based on the idea of looking at cities from a different artistic perspective, is based on the idea of producing works in a short period using the most basic drawing materials (pencil, sketchbook, ink, etc.) that emphasize rapid visual thinking and perception. In this paper, first, the place of cities in the perception of artists will be examined within the framework of visual perception, and then the principles, methods, and materials of the urban sketchers movement will be explained in the context of visuals.
