Abstract
Fransız ressam Pierre Soulages (1919- ), 1950'lerin sanat biçimine uyum sağlama amacı gütmeksizin ‘siyah’ı bilgi, deneyim ve kararlılık olarak sunuşuyla özdeşleşmiş bir kimliktir. II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası gelişen duygulara ve "asıl dünya"nın varlığı üzerine inşa edilen gerçeklik algısına paralel göstergeler üretmiş olan bu kimlik, siyahı karanlık hakkında bir şey olmaktan çıkarmış, onun ışıkla bütünleştirilmesinin önemli bir temsilcisi olmuştur. Souleges sayesinde siyah, değişen benliği temsilen -ton değil- ‘modern renk’ olma konumuna gelmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, siyahı sanatının merkezine koyan Souleges’ın çalışmalarının kendine has sürekliliğini belirlemek ve soyut dışavurumcu sanatçının öznel kimliğini var-oluş eksenine yerleştirerek analiz etmektir. Bu bağlamda modern olan ‘siyah’ içinde varlık bulduğu düzenin yaratıcı unsuru olarak yerini belirginleştirirken, pratik bilinç etkileşimi içindeki bireysel kimlik/ benlik olgusu dışsal bir boyut kazanmaktadır. Varoluşsal kaygı temelinde Soulages, bilinçli bir bir farkındalık geliştirmiş, özgün bir duyarlık yakalamış ve sunmuştur. Souleges’a özgü düşüncenin nesnesi olarak ‘siyah’, sanatsal yaratıcılık ile bireysel kimlik arasıdaki ilişkinin varlığının kanıtı ve güven zemini haline gelmiştir.

Abstract
French painter Pierre Soulages (1919- ) is an identity identified with his presentation of 'black' as knowledge, experience and determination, without aiming to adapt to the art form of the 1950s. This identity, which produced signs parallel to the feelings that developed after the World War II and the perception of reality built on the existence of the "real world", removed black from being something about darkness, and became an important representative of its integration with light. Thanks to Souleges, black has become a 'modern color' - not a tone - representing the changing self. The aim of this research is to determine the unique continuity of the works of Souleges, who puts black at the center of his art, and to analyze the abstract expressionist artist's subjective identity by placing it on the axis of existence. In this context, while the modern 'black' clarifies its place as the creative element of the order in which it exists, the individual identity/self phenomenon in the interaction of practical consciousness gains an external dimension. On the basis of existential concern, Soulages has developed a conscious awareness, captured and presented a unique sensitivity. As the object of Souleges' thought, 'black' has become the proof of the existence of the relationship between artistic creativity and individual identity and the ground of trust.
