Abstract
Tarihi süreçte kişisel beğeni ve merak, hediyelik eşyaların saklanması ve ender bulunan eşyaları elde etme isteği gibi sebeplerle eserlerin toplanması ve sergilenmesi ile müzeler oluşmuştur. Günümüze kadar sayıları hızla artan müzelerin çeşitliliği de artmıştır. Önceleri müze ziyaretleri kişisel merak ve beğeni amacı taşımakla birlikte zaman içerisinde eğitim ve öğretim faaliyetleri kapsamında da işlev görmeye başlanmıştır. Özellikle son yıllarda ülkemizde eğitim ve öğretim alanında etkinliği artan müzelerin öğrencilere ve öğretmenlere etkili ve kalıcı öğrenmeyi sunan mekân olarak önemi dikkat çekmektedir. Mili Eğitim Bakanlığının 2018 yılında yenilediği sosyal bilgiler ders programında sosyal bilgiler eğitiminde okul dışı ortamlardan da faydalanmaya önem verilmesi bu çalışmaların okulun yakın çevresinden başlayarak pazaryerine, resmî dairelere, fabrikalara, sergilere, arkeolojik kazı alanlarına, atölyelere, müzelere ve tarihî mekânlara yönelik olabileceği belirtilmiştir. Bu bağlamda sosyal bilgiler eğitiminde müzelerden yararlanmanın konu edildiği bu çalışma kapsamında; öncelikle genel olarak müzelerden söz edilmiş olup devamında müzelerin eğitimdeki rolünden ve sosyal bilgiler eğitimindeki öneminden bahsedilmiş, son olarak da müze gezilerinde karşılaşılan sorunlar ve buna ilişkin çözüm önerilerimiz dile getirilmiştir.

Abstract
In the historical process, museums were formed by collecting and exhibiting the works due to reasons such as personal taste and curiosity, storage of souvenirs, and desire to obtain rare items. The variety of museums, whose number has increased rapidly until today, has also increased. In the past, museum visits were aimed at personal curiosity and appreciation, but over time they started to function within the scope of education and training activities. Especially in recent years, the importance of museums whose effectiveness increased in the field of education and training in our country is remarkable as a place that offers effective and permanent learning to students and teachers. In the social studies curriculum renewed by the Ministry of Education in 2018, the emphasis was placed on making use of out-of-school environments in social studies education, and it was stated that these places could include the marketplace, government agencies, factories, exhibitions, archaeological excavations, workshops, museums, and historical places starting from the close environment of the school. In this context, within the scope of this study, whose subject is using museums in social studies education, firstly museums were mentioned in general, then the role of museums in education and their importance in social studies education was mentioned, finally, the problems encountered during the museum visits and our solution suggestions regarding this were expressed.
