Abstract
Bir enstrümanın solo kimliğini kazanma sürecinde orijinal olarak kendisi için bestelenmiş eserler oldukça önemlidir. Keman ailesinin bir üyesi olan viyola, başlangıçta oda müziği ve orkestra eserlerinin iç partilerinde tamamlayıcı nitelikte kullanılmıştır. Yapısal gelişimini tamamladığı klasik dönemde Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ve Joseph Haydn gibi besteciler eserlerinde viyolaya daha fazla sorumluluk vermiş, enstrümanın ön plana çıkmasını sağlamışlardır. Bu sayede teknik ve müzikal imkânları ortaya çıkan viyola için 19. yüzyıldan itibaren daha fazla solo eser bestelenmeye başlanmıştır. Kendisi önemli bir keman virtüözü olan Henri Vieuxtemps (1820-1881) viyola repertuvarına önemli eserler kazandırmıştır. Bu çalışmada Henri Vieuxtemps’ in hayatı, viyola için bestelediği eserler ve bu eserlerin analizleri yer almaktadır.

Abstract
In the process of gaining the solo identity of an instrument, the works originally composed for itself are very important. A member of the violin family, the viola was initially used as a complement to the internal parties of chamber music and orchestral works. During the classical period in which completed its structural development, composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn gave the viola more responsibility in their works and brought the instrument to the forefront. In this way, the 19th-century viola, whose technical and musical possibilities were revealed, was a great opportunity. More solo works have been composed since the 19th century. Henri Vieuxtemps (1820-1881), an important violin virtuoso himself, brought important works to the viola repertoire. This study includes the life of Henri Vieuxtemps, works composed for viola and analysis of these works.
