Abstract
Kastamonu kent merkezinden geçen ve kenti ikiye bölen Karaçomak deresi Kastamonu için önemli bir kent imgesidir. Kent içerisinde bu derece baskın olan dere geçmişte farklı amaçlar için kullanılmış ancak bugün kentliye sadece görsel açıdan kullanım olanağı sunmaktadır. Dere çevresinde insanların dinleneceği, rahatlayacağı, stresinden uzaklaşacağı rekreatif etkinlik alanları bulunmamaktadır. Su ile buluşmak, temas etmek, suyun işitsel ve terapik etkisinden yararlanmak bugünün kullanım şartlarında mümkün görünmemektedir. Bu açıdan bu çalışma kapsamında derenin rekreatif etkinlik açısından kullanımına uygun tasarım önerisi geliştirilmiştir. Sonrasında derenin dünü, bugünü ve yarını (oluşturulan tasarım) olmak üzere üç görüntüsünün kullanıcılar üzerinde oluşturduğu hisler, beğenilme durumları ve bu alanlarda gerçekleştirmek istedikleri etkinlikler kullanıcı üzerinde gerçekleştirilen anket yardımıyla belirlenmiş ve derenin dünü bugünü ve yarını karşılaştırılmıştır.Sonuçta Kastamonu halkının dereyi sadece görsel amaçla kullanmak istemedikleri rekreatif etkinlik amacıyla kullanmak istedikleri ortaya çıkmış ve derenin en çok yarını beğenilmiştir.

Abstract
The Karaçomak stream is an important urban image for Kastamonu which passes through Kastamonu city center and divides the city into two sides. The stream, which is dominant in the city, has been used for different purposes in the past but today it offers only the visual use to the citizens. In the vicinity of the stream, there are no recreational areas where people can rest, relax and get away from stress. It is not possible to meet with water, to get in touch, to benefit from the auditory and therapeutic effects of water in today's conditions of use. In this respect, a design proposal has been developed for the use of the stream in terms of recreational efficiency. Afterwards, the sensations, likes and effects of the three images of the streamon past, present and future of the creek were determined with the help of the survey performed on the users and the stream's past and present were compared. As a result, it was revealed that the people of Kastamonu wanted to use the stream not only for the visual purpose but also for recreational activities as well and among three images of the stream, the future proposal was the most liked one.
