Abstract

20. yüzyıl insanlık tarihinin en hızlı gelişim ve dönüşümüne sahne olmuştur. Dünya ölçeğinde gerçekleşen krizler ve savaşlar, yalnızca coğrafi sınırları değil, o coğrafyalarda yaşayan insanları da değiştirmiştir. Endüstri devriminin sosyolojik etkileri ile birlikte oluşan yeni sınıfsal ortamın gereksinimleri de farklılaşmıştır. Günlük yaşamın içerisinde yeniden halkın ulaşabileceği bir sanat fikri ortaya çıkmıştır. Sanatçılar da aristokrasinin çöküşünü ve yeni ekonomik sınıfların doğuşunu takip etmiştir. Yenidünya olarak adlandırılan Amerika kıtası, göçmenlerin kurduğu bir yerleşik düzen olması nedeniyle farklı görüş ve düşüncelere açık yapısıyla öne çıkmıştır. 2. Dünya Savaşı’nın son bulmasının ardından iki kutuplu dünya düzeni içerisinde sıkışan sanat ortamı ve sanatçılar, sanatın merkezinin Avrupa’dan Amerika’ya taşınmasını sağlamıştır. Bu hareket dünya sanat tarihini de köklü biçimde değişime uğratmıştır. Bu çalışma; Soğuk Savaş dönemini hazırlayan sebepler, sürecin ilerleyişi ve son bulmasına kadar yaşanan dönem içerisinde, sanat ortamında yaşanan hareketliliğin bağlantılarını sorgulamak ve analiz etmek amacındadır. Clement Greenberg gibi çok güçlü bir kimliğin “biçimci” yaklaşımını temel alarak, bizzat desteklediği Amerikan Soyut Sanatı ya da Soyut Dışavurumculuk hareketi üzerinden, Soğuk Savaş dönemi Amerikan politikaları ile bağlantıların irdelenmesi, çalışmanın evrenini oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma Soğuk Savaş öncesinde yaşanan gelişmeler, Soğuk Savaş süreci ve bu süreç içerisinde yaşanan durumu kapsamaktadır. Clement Greenberg’in biçimci yaklaşımının teorik temelleri ışığında, gerekli literatür araştırması yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler, detaylı olarak konu üzerine odaklanmış araştırmalar, tartışmayı şekillendiren kaynaklar ve onaylanmış ifadeler seçilerek düzenlenmiştir. Konu içerisinde önemi bulunan ve yazılı metni destekleyecek görseller de eklenmiştir.

Abstract

The 20th century has been the scene of the fastest development and transformation of human history. World-wide crises and wars have changed not only geographic boundaries, but also those who living in those regions. The needs of the new class that has emerged with the sociological effects of the industrial revolution have also changed. In the daily life, the idea of an art that people can reach again has emerged. Artists followed the collapse of the aristocracy and the emergence of new economic classes. The American continent, known as the new world, stands out with its structure open to different views and ideas due to the fact that it is a settled establishment established by immigrants. After the end of World War II, the art scene and artists, trapped in a bipolar world order, moved the center of art from Europe to America. This movement has radically altered the history of world art. This work; aims to the Cold War period is to questioning and analyzing the links between the mobility in the art environment during the period until the process progresses and ends. Based on the Clement Greenberg’s formalism who had a strong personality and effect, the relationship between American Abstract Art or Abstract Expressionism movement and American politics of the Cold War period is creating this study’s universe. Study includes the developments before the Cold War, the Cold War period and the situation in this process. In the light of the theoretical foundations of Clement Greenberg's formal approach, the necessary literature research has been made and the data obtained has been analyzed. The analyzes are organized from the researchs which are focuses on the subject, the resources that shape the discussion and the approved statements. The visuals that are important in the subject and which will support the written text are also included.
