Abstract
Macar besteci Franz Liszt’in (1811-1886) kendisini dine adadığı Roma’da yaşadığı bir dönemde iki ayrı azizin yaşadığı efsanevi olaylardan ilham alarak bestelediği Deux Légendes (iki efsane), piyano literatüründe önemli bir yere sahiptir. Eserlerin bir efsaneye dayanıyor olması nedeniyle piyano ile çalışmaya başlamadan önce hikayelerinin mutlaka öğrenilmesi ve nota üzerinde hikayelerden betimlenen unsurların belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Piyanistin yapacağı bu ön hazırlık; eserleri doğru yorumlamasını sağlayacak ve icrasını direkt olarak etkileyecektir. Yoğun müzikal ifadelerle birlikte Liszt’in büyük bir virtüöz olması sebebiyle eserlerde piyanistik açıdan da teknik zorluklar oldukça fazladır. Bu çalışmada Deux Légendes’ın hikayeleriyle birlikte ikinci efsane St. François de Paule: Marchant sur les Flots için teknik zorluklara yönelik çözümlemeler yapılmış ve piyanistlere yardımcı olabilecek bir kaynak oluşturmak amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract
Of crucial importance in piano literature, Hungarian composer Franz Liszt’s (1811-1886) works Deux Légendes (two legends), inspired by two legendary stories about two different saints, were composed during his Rome period, when he was devoutly religious. Due to the fact that the pieces are based on legendary stories, before one starts to perform them on the piano, it’s essential to be familiar with these stories and determine the elements pictured in the stories on score. This preparation will not only help to interpret the pieces correctly and but also affect the playing performance profoundly. Due to Liszt’s great virtuosity along with intense musical expressions in the pieces, there are a lot of difficulties in terms of piano technique. This study sets out to analyze the stories of the Deux Légendes, along with the second legend St. François de Paule: Marchant sur les Flots in terms of technical difficulties, thus aiming to be a source of reference for pianists.
