Abstract
Oktay Rifat’ın ilk kez, 1969-70 tiyatro sezonunda Ankara Devlet Tiyatrosundasahnelenen Yağmur Sıkıntısı adlı oyununda, evlilik ilişkisiyle birbirlerine bağlı, ancakhayata bakışları farklı bir kadın ve bir erkeğin çatışması işlenir. Diğer taraftan, buhuzursuz ilişki, güçlünün güçsüzü yuttuğu acımasız bir sosyo- ekonomik ilişkiler düzeniile çevrelenmiştir. Zamanımızdan yaklaşık elli yıl önce yazılan oyun yenidenyorumlanırken, aynı zamanda bugünün seyircisine seslenen bir sahne dili kurmak içinsahneleme sürecinde bir takım düzenlemelere gidilmiş; oyun göreceli olarakzamansızlaştırılmıştır. Bu çalışma, zamanımızdan farklı bir zaman diliminde yazılan biroyunun sahneye konulması sürecinde oturtulduğu/oturtulabileceği kurgusal zamanın nasıloluşturulabileceği hakkında, Yağmur Sıkıntısı rejisi üzerinden örnekler ve önerilersunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Abstract
In the play of Rain Distress by Oktay Rifat, first staged in the 1969-70 theater season ofAnkara State Theater, is discussed the story of a couple who connected to each other withthe marriage although they had different the life views. On the other hand, this restlessrelationship is surrounded by a ruthless socio-economic relationship which was thepowerful destroyed the powerless. While the play which was written about fifty years agofrom our time was reinterpreted, a number of arrangements were made in the directingprocess in order to set up a stage language addressing today's audience. As a result, theplay was made relatively timeless. This study aims to provide examples and suggestionson how to create a fictional time in which a play written in a different time frame can beput on stage.
