Abstract
Müziğin insanlar üzerindeki etkileri çok eski çağlardan beri bilinmektedir. Müzik, ilk çağlarda dini ayinlerde, kutsal günlerde, daha sonra savaşlarda (karşı tarafa psikolojik baskı amaçlı), bayram günlerinde, eğlencelerde, yapılan etkinliğin türüyle uyumlu, insanların duygularını harekete geçiren bir araç olmuştur. Müzik insan beyninde sevgi, öfke, korku, coşku vb. duyguların yönetildiği yer olan limbik sistemi harekete geçirmede önemli bir işleve sahiptir. O halde öncelikle, “müzik nedir?” sorusuna yanıt aranıp, ardından “şiddet” kavramı üzerinde durulacak, müzik ve şiddet kavramlarının nasıl bir araya geldiği konusu, ezgisel ve sözel unsurlar göz önünde bulundurularak görsel-duysal materyallerle açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır. Müziğin, kavram, davranış ve sounddan oluştuğu düşünüldüğünde, inceleme nesnesinin, müziksel kavram, müziksel kavramlaştırma ve müziksel sound/tını da var olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Şiddet ise, sadece bir “kontrol kaybı” ya da bir "cinnet" hali değil, aynı zamanda bilinçli, kontrollü, planlı ve sistematik yapılan bir eylem, bir seçimdir. Şiddetin farklı türleri vardır. Bunlar; fiziksel şiddet, duygusal şiddet, psikolojik şiddet, sözlü şiddet, cinsel şiddet, işyeri şiddeti, ekonomik şiddet vb.dir. Bu bağlamda düşünüldüğünde müziğin, sevgi, coşku, merhamet gibi olumlu davranışlara kaynaklık ettiği gibi; öfke, korku, kaygı vb. olumsuz davranışlara da kaynaklık ettiği göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, müzik ve şiddetin birlikteliği bu araştırmanın odak noktasını oluşturmaktadır.

Abstract
The effects of music on people have been known from ancient times. Music became a tool evoking the emotions of people and being coherent with the kind of activity held in religious rites, sacrificial days in ancient times and then at wars (with the purpose of applying psychological pressure on opposite side), in festivals and holidays. Music has a significant function in galvanizing the limbic system to which such feelings as love, anger, fear, enthusiasm etc. are directed in human brain. In this case, the answer will be sought for the question “what is music?” and then the notion “violence” will be addressed, the matter how the concepts of music and violence came together will be tried to be explained with visual-sensual materials by considering melodic and verbal elements. When it is considered that the music is composed of a concept, behavior and sound, it becomes clear that the object of analysis already exists in musical concept, musical conceptualization and musical sound and timbre. Violence is not only the “loss of control” or state of “insanity”, but also an action and preference made consciously and systematically in a controlled and planned way. Violence has different types. These are the physical violence, emotional violence, psychological violence, verbal violence, sexual violence, violence at work, economic violence etc. In this sense, when it is considered that the music leads to not only such positive behaviors as love, enthusiasm and mercy, but also those negative behaviors like anger, fear and anxiety etc., the association of music and violence constitutes the focal point of this study.
