Abstract
Alternatif arayışı içerinde olan ve hobileri doğrultusunda turizm hareketlerine katılan özel ilgi turistleri kitle turizmine katılan turistlere göre daha farklı özelliklere ve beklentilere sahiptirler. Özel ilgi turistine yönelik olarak son yıllarda hızla gelişen açık hava (outdoor) rekreasyon faaliyetlerinden birisi de kuş gözlemdir. Amerika, Afrika ve Avrupa ülkelerinde belirgin bir ivme ile büyüyen kuş gözlem turizminin ülkemizde de geliştirilebileceği düşünülmektedir. Turizm hareketlerinin ülkenin genelinde yaygınlaştırılması bağlamında coğrafi konumu itibariyle özellikle kuş göç yolları üzerinde olması ve farklı flora sistemlerinin birleşme noktası olması bunun yanında uluslararası öneme haiz sulak alanlara ve Önemli Kuş Alanlarına sahip olması sebebiyle Sivas ilinde kuş gözlem turizm potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesi çalışmanın nihai amacını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada aktif saha çalışması ile birincil verilere, yazın taraması ile de ikincil verilere ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular yorumlanarak Sivas ilinde kuş gözlem turizmin geliştirilebilmesi için öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract
The special interest tourists who are in search of alternatives and participating the tourism activities in the direction of their hobbies have more different features and expectations. In recent years, one of the fast-growing outdoor recreation activities for the special interest tourists is birdwatching. It is thought that the birdwatching tourism that is growing with a significant accelaration in the USA, African, Asian countries can be improved. This paper aims in the context of countrywide extensification of tourism acts to evaluate the birdwatching tourism potential in Sivas Province especially because Sivas is on the migration routes of birds and different flora systems' juncture point itself of its its geographical location, furthermore, it has internationally important wetlands and International Bird Areas. In this research, the primary data is attained by active field work and secondary data is by literature review. By interpreting the findings obtained from the research, the proposals are made in order that the birdwatching tourism can be improved within Sivas Province.
