Abstract
Bu çalışmada, XVI. Yüzyıl’dan günümüze flütte vibratonun geçtiği tarihsel süreç ele alınmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden, betimsel analiz kullanılmış, konuya ilişkin alan-yazın taranmış, ulaşılan kaynaklarla sınırlandırılmıştır. Vibrato tanımlanmış, yüzyıllara ayrılarak, oluşum, gelişim ve değişim süreçleri ekoller ile birlikte açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Büyük müzisyenlerin bir kısmının, flütte vibrato konusundaki görüşlerine yer verilmiş, vibrato kavramı konusunda karşılaşılan; parmak, çene-dudak, nefes vibratoları gibi, birbirinden farklı üretim yöntemleri, ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Vibratonun tanımlandırılması, adlandırılması ve seslendirilmesi konularında karşılaşılan fikir ayrılıklarına yer verilmiş, dönemsel yönelimler üzerinde durulmuştur. Gelişen teknoloji ve tıbbi cihazların deneylerde kullanımı ile birlikte, nefesli çalgıların vibrato üretimine ilişkin terminolojik ve kavramsal yanlışlarının ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür.

Abstract
In this study, the historical process of the flute vibrato has been researched from XVI. Century until these days. Descriptive analysis of qualitative research methods has been used, a literature review has been made about the subject and there search is limited with the accessible sources of those. The vibrato has been identified, its formation, development and fluctation has been tried to explain by separating the minto centuries by schools of those periods. Arguments of some of the great musicians has found a place about the concept of the flute vibrato as well. In this context, several vibrato production techniques such as finger, jaw-lip and breathe has been scrutinised. Divergencies about the vibrato’s definition, classification and vocalisation has been examined and period-spesific trends been emphasized. Terminological and conceptial in accuracies of the vibrato production has been seen with the involvement of developing technology and experiments with the medical devices.
