Abstract
Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi tarafından açılan Halkevleri ve Halkodaları partinin birer şubesi gibi varlığını sürdürmüştür. Bu kuruluşların amacı, yapılan reformların halka ulaştırılması gibi gösterilse de, CHP için büyük bir teşkilatlanma ve yayılma olanağı yaratmıştır. İktidar partisinin kendi şartlarına uymadığını iddia ederek kapattığı Türk Ocakları yerine kurulan Halkevleri, çok partili hayata geçişle birlikte eleştirilmeye başlanmıştır. 1950 yılında iktidarı ele geçiren Demokrat Parti tarafından çalışamaz hale getirilmiştir. Bu çalışma da; Halkevleri ve Halkodalarının kuruluş süreci, çalışma alanları, etkinlikleri, kapatılma sürecine girişleri ve devre dışı bırakılmaları konuları arşiv belgeleri, Resmi Gazete ve gündelik gazetelerin de desteğiyle aydınlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bir dönemin en gözde kuruluşlarının genel bir tahlili yapılmıştır.

Community houses and Community rooms which are opened by People’s Republican Party continue its existence as the party’s one each branch. The purpose of these institutions, it creates possibility of great organization and propagation for People’s Republican Party as if it is shown like the reforms which are done convey to the public. Community houses which are founded instead of Turkish Association which is claimed that it is not honor in accordance with the ruling party’s terms closed by the ruling party. Democratic Party which has the ruling in 1950 disables the Turkish Association. In this study; it is tried to enlighten the process of foundation of Community Houses and Community Rooms, fields of working, activities, the archive documents of the entrance to the process of closing and knocking them out with the support of daily newspapers and official journal. In one period’s the most favorite institutions’ general analyses is made.
