Abstract
Düşüncenin ve algının mekana ve kültüre göre değişmesi, dünyanın ve gerçekliğinin insan tarafından tanımı toplumlara göre farklılıklar göstermiştir. Tarih boyunca Doğu ve Batı bu anlamda iki farklı kültür ya da insan toplumu olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Farklı gelenek, görenek ile birlikte yaşam karşısındaki pratikleri de bu toplumları birbirinden farklı kılan özelliklerdendir. Analitik düşünce sistemi ve kendini doğadan ayırarak, onu bilinecek ve kavranacak bir şey olarak karşısına alan insan Batı’ya aitken; Doğu’lu, doğa ile uyum içinde yaşayarak, kendini de onun bir parçası sayan ve mistik bir düşünce sistemine sahiptir. İki farklı toplumun, yani Doğu ile Batı’nın insanı, bu bağlamda algısal ve düşünsel farklılıkları ile felsefi anlamda da ayrılmışlardır. Sanatlarında ve yaratımlarında da bu algısal farklılıklar zamansal olarak farklı dönemlerde gerçekleşmiştir. Doğu’nun mistik öğretileri ile yoğrulmuş Doğulu sanatçı da bu bakımdan Batı’nın sanatına, gerek felsefi gerekse biçimsel olarak etkide bulunmuştur. Özellikle 20. Yüzyıl Batı Sanatının gerçekleşmesinde Batı’nın Doğu’dan esinlenmesi ve çoğu sanatçıya ilham vermesi yadsınamaz bir gerçektir.

Abstract
The change of thought and perception according to place and culture has shown that the world and its reality differ according to the definition of man by societies. Throughout history, East and West have been considered two different cultures or human societies in this sense. Different traditions, customs and also their practices in relation to cohabiting also are the features that make these societies different from each other. A person who separates himself from nature with analytical thinking system and takes it as something to be known and understood, belongs to the West; however the Easterner, lives in harmony with the nature, has a thinking system that regards him as a part of it and is mystical. The two different societies, namely the people of East and West, have also been separated in philosophical sense with their perceptual and intellectual differences in this context. These perceptual differences in their art and creation happened in different periods in time. Oriental artist,who was molded with the mystical teachings of the East, also effected the art of the West, both philosophically and formally. It is an undeniable fact that the West is inspired by the East and inspired many artists especially in the realization of 20. Century Western Art.
