Abstract
Türk edebiyatının önemli romancılarından olan İzgü, toplumsal sorunları mizah ve ironiyle dile getiren önemli sanatçılardandır. Onun eserleri için toplumu yansıtan bir aynadır demek mümkündür. Eserlerinde insan sevisini ve güldürmeyi temel alan yazar, argo ve küfre başvurmadan düşündürmeyi ve eğitmeyi başarır. Okuyucunun davranışlarını, gülünçlüklerini onun yazdıklarında bulması, eserlerinin çok okunmasının sağlayan nedenlerdendir. Her fırsatta halkın sorunlarını ve yaşamın gerçeklerini konu edinen İzgü, geçim sıkıntısı çeken insanların hayatlarını, gecekondu insanlarının yaşam mücadelesini ve küçük memurların yaşadığı sorunları dile getirir. Küçüklüğünden itibaren Adana sokaklarında çalışmak zorunda kalan yazar, farklı insanları tanıma ve gözlemleme fırsatı bulur. İzgü, one of the important novelists of Turkish literatüre ia one of the important artists expressing the problems of the society through humour and irony. It is possible to say that his works are mirror reflecting the society. The author who focuses on human love and humour manages to puzzle and educate without using slang and swearing.
