Abstract
Bu öznel tabiatlı makale; aslında, yazarının, Ankara’da yeterlik sınavını vermiş bir sosyoloji doktora öğrencisi iken, sırf güzel sanatlar sosyolojisi alanında bir tez uğruna, Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi’ne yatay geçiş dilekçesine eklediği gerekçe raporu idi. Sanayi-i Nefîse yıllarından beri güzel sanatlara beşiklik eden bu üniversite, bir sanat sosyolojisi tezi gerçekleştirmeye en uygun ortamı sağlayabilirdi. Rektörlükten gelen cevapta ise yatay geçiş tarihin kaçırılmış olduğu belirtilmekteydi. Yazar; ilgili bir tez şansını kaçırmanın teessürünü belrtirken; metin içinde Güzel Sanatlar Sosyolojisinin ana temalarına da ayrıca değinmiştir.

Abstract
This subjectively-oriented article was actually the supplement of a petition submitted to Mimar Sinan University, requiring a transfer from Ankara as a Ph.D. dissertation student who had passed the proficiency exam, merely for the sake of a thesis on sociology of fine arts. That university had been a cradle for fine arts ever since its foundation in late Ottoman days and thus could provide the most convenient environment for the realization of such a dissertation. As for the reply from the rector’s office,he was notified about the elapse of the deadline for a prospective horizontal transfer.While the author expesses his regret for having missed the chance of a a related dissertation; he also supplies a brief overview of the main topics of the Sociology of fine Fine Arts, within the text.
