Abstract
Klasik tefsirde kadınlarla ilgili olarak yapılan yorumlar, günümüzde üzerinde eleştirilerin yoğunlaştığı ve ciddi tartışmaların gerçekleştiği konular arasında yer almaktadır. Bu makalede Râzî’nin tefsiri esas alınarak klasik tefsirde yer alan kadın konulu yorumların eleştirel bir değerlendirmesi yapılacaktır. Râzî’nin tefsirinde gerek kendisine gerek çağdaşları veya seleflerine ait olan yorumlarla ve benzer konularla ilgili günümüzde sergilenen eleştirel tutumların sebepleri tespit edilmeye çalışılacak, objektif bir yaklaşımla konunun analizi yapılacaktır. Kadının şahitliği, miras ve erkeğin kavvam olması ile ilgili ayetlerin yorumu çerçevesinde Râzî’nin bazı öznel yargılarının tefsirine ne ölçüde yansıdığı araştırılacaktır. Bu çalışmanın neticesinde müfessirin sosyo-kültürel kimliğinin tefsire yansıyıp yansımadığına da bir ölçüde ışık tutulmuş olacaktır.

Abstract
Verses related to the women in classical exegesis attract the attention of many scholars in modern period. This disputable topic will be reviewed in this article from the perspective of famous exegete al-Razi. In addition, this artilce will compare critically his appraoch with his contemporaries and other scholars. By doing this the article aims at identifying the criticism carried out by modern scholarship. In brief, this article will re-evaluate the perception of women by Muslim exegetecial tradition objectively and analytically. Razi's subjective interpretation of the verses will be analysed on the basis of his approaches to the topics such as woman's witnessing, inheritance, the status of man over woman as a qawwam. At the end this article will shed light on the socio-cultural background of the commentator. Moreover, it will give us an opportunity to judge whether or not this background has any influence on his exegetical work.
