Abstract
Göç, insanlık tarihi kadar eski bir geçmişe sahip, sosyal ve ekonomik yönleri olan bir toplumsal bir olgudur. Sebepleri ve sonuçları itibari ile bilimsel çalışmalara konu olan göçler, özellikle Sanayi Devrimi sonrası toplumların yaşadığı gelişmelerle yeni bir boyut kazanmıştır. Bu boyutu, göç üzerine merakı daha da arttırmış ve akademik çevrelerce konu bilimsel zeminlere taşınmaya başlanmıştır. Göçün ekonomik, siyasi ve sosyal boyutu çok yönlü olarak disiplinler arası çalışmalara konu olurken göç ve kentleşme, göç ve yerel yönetimler konuları da bu gelişmeler ile gündeme taşınmıştır. Birbirini tamamlar nitelikte olan göç ve yerel yönetimler konusu, aynı zamanda yerel yönetimlerdeki gelişmeleri de içerisine alan yeni bir bilimsel çalışma alanının da doğmasına neden olmuştur. Abstract
Migration is an entity as old as human history having social as well as economic factors which has affected human social structuring. This is especially so when considering the period after the Industrial Revolution which has given rise to a new dimension of social dynamic research focusing on the subject of reasons and results of migration. These dimensions gave rise to increased interest in the subject of migration and, subsequently, set the foundation for academic researched regarding the subject. Migration has economic, political and social domains which allows versatility as a subject of interdisciplinary study, examining migration and urbanization, as well as migration and local government issues focused on developments, moving it up on the current agenda. The complementary subjects of migration and local governance have been more inclusive in simultaneous developments with regard to local governance and this new area of scientific research.
