Abstract
Araştırmada, kan davası, intihar ve cezaevi gibi sosyal olayların yol açtığı okul hayatındaki başarısızlığa ilişkin öğrenci görüşleri incelenmeye çalışılmış, başarısızlığa yol açan başka etkenler kapsam dışı bırakılmıştır. Bu araştırmada nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemleri bir arada kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 2013-2014 yılını kapsamakta olup Batman kent merkezindeki 5 ortaokul ve 5 lise ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Örneklem grubunu 392 öğrenci (200 lise, 192 ortaokul öğrencisi) oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin elde edilmesinde anket ve mülakat teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin tamamına anket uygulanmış, 25 öğrenciye de yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre intihar, kan davası ve cezaevi vakalarının öğrencilerde ders ve okul sorunlarına yol açtığı tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract
In this research, it has been tried to investigate the students' opinions about failure in school life because of the social events such as blood feud, suicide and prison, other factors that lead to failure weren't taken into consideration. In this study, qualitative and quantitative research methods are used together. The study has been held between 2013-2014, it's restricted to 5 secondary schools and 5 high schools in Batman city center. The sampling group is formed with 392 students (200 high schools, 192 secondary schools). Survey and interview techniques are used in gathering necessary data. The survey has applied to all of the students; structured interview has been carried out with 25 students. According to the results of study; it has been determined that suicide, blood feud and prison affairs lead to class and school problems for students.
