Abstract

This study examined the levels of peace among university students and their tendencies toward violence-preventive factors. The study, designed as a descriptive and correlational survey model, collected data using the Peace Scale (PS) and the Violence Preventive Factors Scale (VPFS). The findings revealed that students generally had high levels of peace. Physical activity, economic well-being, extraversion, adaptability, and a positive mental state were found to be factors that contribute to increased levels of peace. On the other hand, alcohol use, poor mental health, short sleep duration, anger responses, and negative coping styles were found to be significantly associated with violence-preventive factors. The results demonstrated that students’ tendencies toward peace and coping with violence are strongly influenced by sociodemographic and psychosocial variables. In this context, it is recommended to strengthen psychosocial support services at universities, implement programs that promote healthy lifestyle habits, and expand awareness-raising initiatives aimed at preventing violence.
