Abstract
Bu çalışma, Gürleyen Kanyonu’nun ekoturizm potansiyelini değerlendirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiş ve kanyonun doğal, kültürel ve turistik özellikleri detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Gürleyen Kanyonu, sahip olduğu jeolojik yapısı, biyolojik çeşitliliği ve doğal güzellikleriyle doğa yürüyüşü, kampçılık, kuş gözlemciliği ve fotoğrafçılık gibi ekoturizm faaliyetleri için önemli bir destinasyon olma potansiyeline sahiptir. Ancak, bölgedeki turizm altyapısının yetersizliği ve yerel halkın ekoturizm süreçlerine sınırlı katılımı, bu potansiyelin tam anlamıyla değerlendirilemediğini göstermektedir. Çalışmada, kanyonun doğal yapısına zarar vermeden turizm altyapısının geliştirilmesi, yerel halkın sürece aktif katılımının sağlanması ve çevresel koruma önlemlerinin alınması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Gürleyen Kanyonu’nun sürdürülebilir bir ekoturizm destinasyonu olarak geliştirilmesi hem bölgenin ekonomik kalkınmasına hem de doğal ve kültürel mirasın korunmasına katkı sağlayacağı tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the ecotourism potential of Gürleyen Canyon, with a detailed examination of the canyon’s natural, cultural, and touristic features. Gürleyen Canyon, with its geological structure, biological diversity, and natural beauty, holds significant potential as a destination for ecotourism activities such as hiking, camping, birdwatching, and nature photography. However, the insufficient tourism infrastructure in the region and the limited involvement of the local community in ecotourism processes indicate that this potential has not been fully realized. The study emphasizes the need to develop tourism infrastructure without harming the natural environment, ensure the active participation of local residents in the process, and implement environmental protection measures. In conclusion, it was determined that the development of Gürleyen Canyon as a sustainable ecotourism destination would contribute both to the economic development of the region and the preservation of its natural and cultural heritage.
