Abstract
Bu çalışma, Osmanlı hat sanatında “karalama” geleneği çerçevesinde önemli bir yere sahip olan ve literatürde "Karalamacı" unvanıyla tanınan Seyyid Mehmed Hamdî Efendi’ye ait bir sülüs-nesih karalama levhasını hat sanatı ve eğitimi açısından değerlendirmektedir. Karalama türündeki bu eser, yalnızca yazı alıştırması olarak değil, aynı zamanda hattatın estetik görüşünü, teknik becerilerini ve bireysel üslubunu yansıttığı çok katmanlı bir sanat ürünü olarak ele alınmaktadır. Eser, biçimsel özellikleri, yazı alanındaki düzenlemeler, cetvel uygulamaları ve kompozisyon yapısı açısından detaylı biçimde analiz edilmiştir. Seyyid Mehmed Hamdî Efendi’nin söz konusu eseri, hat sanatında karalama geleneğinin hem eğitsel hem de sanatsal açıdan taşıdığı işlevi ortaya koymakta; geleneksel yazı kültürünün günümüze ulaşan nadide örneklerinden biri olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

Abstract
This study evaluates a thuluth-naskh scratches belonging to Seyyid Mehmed Hamdî Efendi, who holds a significant place within the tradition of ‘scratches” in Ottoman calligraphy and is known in the literature by the title “Scratcher”, from the perspective of calligraphy and education. This scratche work is approached not only as a writing exercise bu also as a multifaceted artistic product that reflects the calligrapher’s aesthetic vision, technical skills, amd individual style. The work is analyzed in detail in terms of its formal features, arrangements in the field of writing, ruler applications and compositional structure. The work of Seyyid Mehmed Hamdî Efendi reveals the function of the scratche tradition in calligraphy in both educational and artistic terms; it is evaluated as one of the rare examples of traditional writing culture that survived to the present day.
