Abstract
Aura, 20. yüzyılın başında Walter Benjamin’in ‘Tekniğin Olanaklarıyla Yeniden Üretilebildiği Çağda Sanat Yapıtı’ adlı makalesinde sanat yapıtları üzerine açıklamalarını yaparken kullandığı bir terimdir. Söz konusu makalede Benjamin, sanatın birçok dalında sanat eserinin sanatçı tarafından üretilen ilk hali ile sonradan gerçekleştirilen yeniden üretimleri arasındaki ilişkilere değinmektedir. Buradan hareketle bu araştırmada geçmişte olduğu gibi bugün de giderek artan bir şekilde sanat nesnesinin varlığı ve teknik yolla yeniden üretilen versiyonlarının alımlayanda oluşturduğu etki üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu amaçla örneklem olarak 20. yüzyılın Soyut Ekspresyonist sanatçısı Mark Rothko’nun Rothko Şapeli olarak bilinen bir seri resmi ele alınmaktadır. Söz konusu resimlerin yer aldığı mekânla kurduğu ilişki, sanat nesnesinin varlığı ve izleyende oluşturduğu etkiler bakımından araştırmaya açık parametler sağlamaktadır. İncelenen eserler ve sanatçının bunlar aracılığıyla oluşturduğu sanat ifadesinin gerçekleşmesinde, sanat nesnesinin hakikiliği ve bulunduğu yerle olan ilişkisi gibi önemli bulgular elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak sanat ifadesinin izleyendeki karşılığı, dolayısıyla sahip olduğu aura/atmosfer gibi özellikleri, onun nesnelliği ile bağlantılı bir olgudur.

Abstract
Aura is a term used by Walter Benjamin at the beginning of the 20th century in his essay ‘The Work of Art in the Age of Reproducibility through the Possibilities of Technique’ while making his explanations on works of art. In the said article, Benjamin touches upon the relations between the first version of the work of art produced by the artist and its subsequent reproductions through many branches of art. From this point of view, this research focuses on the effect of the presence of the art object and its technically reproduced versions on the receiver, which are increasingly being reproduced today as in the past. For this purpose, a series of paintings by the 20th century Abstract Expressionist artist Mark Rothko, known as Rothko Chapel, is taken as an example. The relationship that these paintings establish with the space where they are located provides open parameters for research in terms of the presence of the art object and the effects it creates on the viewer. Important findings such as the authenticity of the art object and its relationship with the place where it is located have been obtained in the realization of the works examined and the art expression created by the artist through them. As a result, the counterpart of the art expression in the viewer, and thus its characteristics such as aura/atmosphere, is a phenomenon related to its objectivity.
